My reflection

‘’Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty. ‘’

Personal Experience During Off Campus Teaching

After studying three and half years on college as an education student .This the time  that the last semester were practice all of the knowledge about teaching. As pre-service teacher I have been faced with decisions and hardships, as well as joys and great achievements. Overall, however, I feel it was a great experience.  My placement at Bahay Provincial High School was important to my success as a student teacher.  While it was not my first choice for placement location, I do feel it was the best place for me to be placed.

The first week in my cooperating school where I had been placed is observation. I observed first in the classroom Management during that I plan also what strategies or style I use if I am already teaching to them. My cooperating Teacher helped me to develop my teaching skills, teaching style and to implement it into my every day classroom teaching.  He helped me to realize and implement many concepts and strategies I already knew. Most importantly, my CT how my student respect me in all times and during this time I sets some regulations, the do don’t at my class.

My classroom management style has most definitely improved throughout this time. I adapted the teaching style of my cooperating teacher’s and try to develop my own strategies. In the beginning of my teaching I was largely focused on building connections with my students.  Once I started teaching, my focus transitioned to that of making sure my instruction and expectations were clear and direct.  Once I became comfortable with my instruction, I began to focus more on individual students that I knew were struggling, and my classroom management as a whole.  While the first few weeks of my full time teaching seemed to drag on, the rest of my experience seemed to fly by. I feel confident in the classroom, particularly in regards to discipline.  As I look back over the past few weeks, I feel that I have grown as a classroom manager. My cooperating teacher say Wow, you are now very good with teaching and as a classroom manager. Also during practice teaching I have more experiences risen, all qualification of a good teacher, like an adviser, classroom manager and a role model in all times.

When my time at Bahay Provincial High School was ended, its to hard say good bye because I think I will miss my student and the faculties.   My student teaching experience has been like no other.  I have learned a lot from both my cooperating Teacher, as well as the students.  I wouldn’t trade my time here in for anything.  I have been challenged many times over, but I feel I have risen to the challenge.  I would not have had the success I have had if it weren’t for the support and guidance of my Cooperating teacher and the students themselves.  Leaving Bahay Provincial High School will be hard, but I will always remember my experiences here and the lessons I have learned. Also the happiness of being a teacher.

So as teacher, of the 21st century, I always apply my learning, experiences and advice of my cooperating teacher. Now, I am ready and confident to enter to the world of teaching. The license is only my concerned today as my passport and key to be able to open the door and entering in teaching.
